About Rhodes



Rhodes - is the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, and is their historical capital. Also known as the "Knights’ island", Rhodes combines a rich history, impressive medieval architecture, amazing beaches and a lovely natural scenery ! The island's 220-kilometer coastline is dotted with a lot of beautiful bays and coves. The beaches of Rhodes, combined with a mild climate and comfortable weather with 300 sunny days a year, attract tourists from all over the world.


The Old Town of Rhodes with its stone-paved alleys and elegant mansions is a listed World Heritage Site. The city is featuring the medieval Street of the Knights and the castlelike Palace of the Grand Masters. Captured by the Ottomans and then held by the Italians, the palace is now a history museum.

What to see in Rhodes ?

Rhodes Old Town




Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, Rhodes’ Old Town was built in the 14th century by the Knights of St John. It’s a medieval city of fortresses, gates, castle walls and a huge dry moat. In addition, its labyrinthine cobbled alleyways contain over 200 streets, many with no names.

Grand Masters Palace




This unique landmark is the pièce de résistance for Rhodes Old Town visit. Built by the Byzantines, it was reconstructed by the Knights of St. John in the 14th century as a home for their Grand Master. In addition, the palace served as an administrative centre during the knights’ tenure.

Street of the Knights




This famous 200-meter cobbled street is starting from the Port and concluding at the Palace of the Grand Masters, the Street of the Knights has seven 16th century inns along it. These represent the seven regions the Grand Masters originated from.

Elli Beach



Starting near the Rhodes Casino this is an organized beach within walking distance from the town center. With its crystalline azure waters, sandy coast, and closeness to the city it is one of the most highly popular beaches in Rhodes.

Valley of Butterflies



It’s located in the North of the island, 26 km from Rhodes city, between the villages of Paradisi and Theologos. It’s a natural, protected tree park, and every year at the end of May, thousands of tiger moths gather to rest on the bark to conserve energy.

Acropolis of Lindos



Lindos is one of Rhodes’ most beautiful villages near St Paul’s Bay, and clearly one of the best places see on the island. This is in the southeast of the island, 50 km by car, taxi or bus from Rhodes Old Town, roughly an hour’s drive.
